Sex Please, We're Sixty
Mrs. Stancliffe’s Rose Cottage Bed & Breakfast has been successful for many years. Her Guests (nearly all women) return year after year. Her next door neighbor, the elderly, silver-tongued, Bud “Bud the Stud” Davis believes they come to spend time with him in romantic liaisons. The prim and proper Mrs. Stancliffe steadfastly denies this, but really doesn’t do anything to prevent it. She reluctantly accepts the fact that “Bud the Stud” is, in fact, good for business. Her other neighbor and would-be suitor Henry Mitchell is a retired chemist who has developed a blue pill called “Venusia,” after Venus the goddess of love, to increase the libido of menopausal women. The pill has not been tested. Add to the guest list three older women: Victoria Ambrose, a romance novelist whose personal life seems to be lacking in romance; Hillary Hudson a friend of Henry’s who has agreed to test the Venusia: and Charmaine Beauregard, a “Southern Belle” whose libido does not need to be increased! Bud gets his hands on some of the Venusia pills and the fun begins, as attempts to entertain all three women! The women mix up Bud’s Viagra pills with the Venusia, and we soon discover that it has a strange effect on men: BUT WE DON"T WANT TO GIVE THAT AWAY!!!!!

THEATRE ARTS GUILD CELEBRATES 35TH ANNIVERSARY
Spotlighting area talents of all ages continues to be the primary focus of the Punxsutawney Theatre Arts Guild, Inc., which is celebrating its 35th anniversary of presenting top quality live stage productions for the enjoyment of its audiences.Over the past decades, the all-volunteer group has performed more than 100 productions ranging from elaborate Broadway musicals to dramas to comedies to murder mysteries, variety revues, Shakespearean plays, and children's shows. In addition, there have been dinner theaters, religious dramas for Good Friday services, and dozens of Touring Company appearances for civic, social, and church groups. Several shows have also been collaborations with the high school and Van Dyke and Company. PTAG had its unofficial beginnings during the earliest years of the Groundhog Festival back in the mid-6os when a group of theater enthusiastspooled their talents to put on a stage show as part of each summer's schedule. Growing interest among performers and supporters led to theGuild's formal creation in 1975. Thanks to the continuing cooperation of the Punxsutawney Area School Board, PTAG has been able to rent school facilities for the rehearsal andpublic performances of three shows each year. For 25 years, the troupe also has taken its summer attraction to the Sawmill Theater in Cook Forest. Making certain that the show goes on, hard-working and creative directors, actors, technical crews, costumers, make-up people, and many unsung contributors working behind-the-scenes spend thousands of hours tokeep community theater alive in Punxsutawney. Plays usually entail budgets of $2,500 to $3,000 while the costs of musicals can range from $4,000 to $8,000. Income from the group is derived from a core of faithful patrons, sponsors, and benefactors, as well as program advertisers, ticket sales, and PTAG's primary fund-raiser, the sale of Koeze nuts and candies each fall.Proud to be part of Punxsutawney, the Guild supports the community through membership in the Chamber of Commerce, as well as financial donations for the Snowflake Lights, the Groundhog Festival, and theFiremen's Old Home Week. Each year, PTAG makes numerous contributions to local benefit auctions and raffles. Through its Mollie Stahl Scholarship, the group has given more than $6,000' worth of educational grants to local high school graduates.
